The Provincial Civil Services - Judicial (PCS-J) exam is a state-level judicial service examination for law graduates aspiring to become civil judges or judicial magistrates. It involves a three-stage process: a preliminary exam, mains exam, and a viva-voce (interview). Eligibility for PCS-J Exam

Though the eligibility criteria may vary state to state, the following are some of the mandatory criteria:

  • Having an LLB degree from a recognized University in India.

  • You must be enrolled as an Advocate under the Advocates Act 1961 with membership in the state Bar Council. (mandatory for some states)

  • Your minimum age should be 21 years, and the maximum age limit for the judge exam is 35. (this can change with respect to reservation criteria)

  • You must be a citizen of India.
