About the NHRC

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India was established on 12 October, 1993. The statute under which it is established is the Protection of Human Rights Act (PHRA), 1993 as amended by the Protection of Human Rights (Amendment) Act, 2006. It is in conformity with the Paris Principles, adopted at the first international workshop on national institutions for the promotion and protection of human rights held in Paris in October 1991, and endorsed by the General Assembly of the United Nations by its Regulations 48/134 of 20 December, 1993.


About the Internship at NHRC

They are hiring interns for the Month of February the “Online Short Term Internship Programme – August 2024 (OSTI- April, 2024)”.


Eligibility

Students studying in 3rd year and onwards of an integrated 5 year PG course

  • Students studying in 3rd/final year of graduation course

  • Students of any semester/year of any post-graduate degree course

  • Students of any semester/year of any post-graduate diploma course

  • Students who are research scholars in any stream

Note: Students must have consistently attained a minimum of 60% marks in Class XII and all subsequent courses including the presently pursued courses. The calculated percentage has to be mentioned clearly from their CGPA/SGPA along with the formula for the percentage obtained. Failure to do either of it so would result in the rejection of the application form.

The student should not be more than 28 years old as on 1st July 2024.


Duration

5th August to 16th August


Documents Required

Applications will be categorically denied if they lack the following:


  1. Statement of Purpose (SoP): In addition to the online application form, which will also be the basis for selection, applicants must submit a 250-word essay on the subject of "Statement of Purpose (SoP) for joining NHRC Online Short Term Internship."

  2. Grade sheets: Please find enclosed scanned copies of your self-attested mark sheets for every year or semester that you are currently enrolled in the course, starting with the 12th standard.

  3. Letter of Recommendation: Scannable letter or email from the relevant HOD, Dean, or Principal on the attached Proforma.
